We have calculated low-lying quasiparticle excitation spectra of rotating three-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensates. As opposed to the prediction of hydrodynamic continuum theories, we find a minimum in the Tkachenko mode spectrum at intermediate rotation frequencies of the harmonic trap. Such a minimum can harbour a Tkachenko quasiparticle with zero excitation energy. We discuss the experimental signatures of such a zero mode.

The increasing amount of clinical evidence derived from Korean real world data (RWD) and the interest in using it in regulatory decision-making have prompted the need to evaluate how the findings of Korean RWD mimicked those of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and real world evidence (RWE). Hence, verifying the reliability of Korean RWD through trial emulations with previously validated methods is a prerequisite for implementing RWE in regulatory decision-making. If the results of trial emulations using Korean RWD were in line with corresponding RCTs, and also with prior emulation studies, we would then have greater confidence in evidence generated from Korean RWD and its use in decision-making. Therefore, we aimed to emulate the landmark trials of non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants to investigate their reproducibility when implemented in Korean RWD sources.

We demonstrate stable, robust, bright dipolar Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) solitons, moving in a direction perpendicular to the polarization direction, formed due to dipolar interaction for repulsive contact interaction. At medium velocity the head on collision of two such solitons is found to be quasi elastic with practically no deformation. Upon small perturbation the solitons are found to exhibit sustained breathing oscillation. The findings are illustrated by numerical simulation using the 3D mean-field Gross-Pitaevskii equation and a reduced 2D model in three and two spatial dimensions employing realistic interaction parameters for a dipolar $^{164}$Dy BEC.

We calculate the ratio of shear viscosity to entropy density for a black brane of $5$-dimensional Einstein-Yang-Mills Gravity by Kubo and membrane paradigm methods. The former gives $\frac{1}{4\pi}$ exactly which is an expected result in the context of the Einstein-Hilbert gravity. In contrast, the membrane paradigm reaches $\frac{1}{4\pi}$ only in large horizon radius limit. We comment on this discrepancy.

Atom loss resonances in ultracold trapped atoms have been observed at scattering lengths near atom-dimer resonances, at which Efimov trimers cross the atom-dimer threshold, and near two-dimer resonances, at which universal tetramers cross the dimer-dimer threshold. We propose a new mechanism for these loss resonances in a Bose-Einstein condensate of atoms. As the scattering length is ramped to the large final value at which the atom loss rate is measured, the time-dependent scattering length generates a small condensate of shallow dimers coherently from the atom condensate. The coexisting atom and dimer condensates can be described by a low-energy effective field theory with universal coefficients that are determined by matching exact results from few-body physics. The classical field equations for the atom and dimer condensates predict narrow enhancements in the atom loss rate near atom-dimer resonances and near two-dimer resonances due to inelastic dimer collisions.

We study conformal $Spin$-subgeometry of submanifolds in a semi-Riemannian $Spin$-manifold, focusing on conformal $Spin$-manifolds $(M,[h])$ and their Poincar\'e-Einstein metrics $(X,g_+)$. Our approach is based on the spectral theory of Dirac operator in the ambient $Spin$-manifold, and associated spinor valued meromorphic family of distributions with residues given by the residue family operators $\slashed{D}_N^{res}(h;\lambda)$ on spinors. We develop basic aspects and properties of $\slashed{D}_N^{res}(h;\lambda)$ including conformal covariance, factorization properties by conformally covariant operators for both flat and curved semi-Riemannian $Spin$-manifolds, and Poisson transformation.

These notes cover the development of the current scienti�c concepts of space and time through history, emphasizing the newest developments and ideas.The presentation will be non-mathematical: the concepts will be introduced and explained, but no real calculations will be performed. The various concepts will be introduced in a historical order (whenever possible), this provides a measure of understanding as to how the ideas on which the modern theory of space and time is based were developed. In a real sense this has been an adventure for humanity, very similar to what a child undergoes from the moment he or she �rst looks at the world to the point he or she understands some of its rules. Part of this adventure will be told here.

We calculate the collective excitations in a homogeneous F=2 spinor condensate in the absence of the magnetic field and also in a strong magnetic field. Almost all the excitations for a zero magnetic field are found to have either the Bogoliubov form or the free-particle form. We relate our results for a strong magnetic field to the concept of fragmented condensates and note that some observable quantities such as the speed of sound for the cyclic state depend on the relative phase between the spinor amplitudes for the $M=\pm 2, 0$ atoms.

In this work we consider the oscillations and associated resonance of a 2D Bose-Einstein condensate under periodic and random modulations of the atomic scattering length. For random oscillations of the trap potential and of the atomic scattering length we are able to calculate the mean growth rate for the width of the condensate. The results obtained from the reduced ODE's for oscillations of the width of condensate are compared with the numerical simulations of the full 2D Gross-Pitaevskii equation with modulated in time coefficients.

The Gardiner's phonon presented for a particle-number conserving approximation method to describe the dynamics of Bose-Einstein Condesation (BEC) (C.W. Gardiner, Phys. Rev. A 56, 1414 (1997)) is shown to be a physical realization of the $q$-deformed boson, which was abstractly developed in quantum group theory. On this observation, the coherent output of BEC atoms driven by a radio frequency (r.f) field is analyzed in the viewpoint of a $q$-deformed Fock space. It is illustrated that the $q$-deformation of bosonic commutation relation corresponds to the non-ideal BEC with the finite particle number $N$ of condensated atoms. Up to order 1/N, the coherent output state of the untrapped atoms minimizes the uncertainty relation like a coherent state does in the ideal case of BEC that $N$ approaches infinity or $q=1-2/N$ approaches one.

Einstein had to learn the mathematics of Lorentz transformations in order to complete his covariant formulation of Maxwell's equations. The mathematics of Lorentz transformations, called the Lorentz group, continues playing its important role in optical sciences. It is the basic mathematical language for coherent and squeezed states. It is noted that the six-parameter Lorentz group can be represented by two-by-two matrices. Since the beam transfer matrices in ray optics is largely based on two-by-two matrices or $ABCD$ matrices, the Lorentz group is bound to be the basic language for ray optics, including polarization optics, interferometers, lens optics, multilayer optics, and the Poincar\'e sphere. Because the group of Lorentz transformations and ray optics are based on the same two-by-two matrix formalism, ray optics can perform mathematical operations which correspond to transformations in special relativity. It is shown, in particular, that one-lens optics provides a mathematical basis for unifying the internal space-time symmetries of massive and massless particles in the Lorentz-covariant world.

We investigate the Bose-Einstein Condensation on non homogeneous non amenable networks for the model describing arrays of Josephson junctions on perturbed Cayley Trees. The resulting topological model has also a mathematical interest in itself. The present paper is then the application to the Bose-Einstein Condensation phenomena, of the harmonic analysis aspects arising from additive and density zero perturbations, previously investigated by the author in a separate work. Concerning the appearance of the Bose-Einstein Condensation, the results are surprisingly in accordance with the previous ones, despite the lack of amenability. We indeed first show the following fact. Even when the critical density is finite (which is implied in all the models under consideration, thanks to the appearance of the hidden spectrum), if the adjacency operator of the graph is recurrent, it is impossible to exhibit temperature locally normal states (i.e. states for which the local particle density is finite) describing the condensation at all. The same occurs in the transient cases for which it is impossible to exhibit locally normal states describing the Bose--Einstein Condensation at mean particle density strictly greater than the critical density . In addition, for the transient cases, in order to construct locally normal temperature states through infinite volume limits of finite volume Gibbs states, a careful choice of the the sequence of the finite volume chemical potential should be done. For all such states, the condensate is essentially allocated on the base--point supporting the perturbation. This leads that the particle density always coincide with the critical one. It is shown that all such temperature states are Kubo-Martin-Schwinger states for a natural dynamics. The construction of such a dynamics, which is a very delicate issue, is also done.

Superfluid properties of Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC) in toroidal quasi-one-dimensional traps are investigated in the presence of periodic scattering length modulations along the ring. The existence of several types of stable periodic waves, ranging from almost uniform to very fragmented chains of weakly interacting and equally spaced solitons, is demonstrated. We show that these waves may support persistent atomic currents and sound waves with spectra of Bogoliubov type. Fragmented condensates can be viewed as arrays of Josephson junctions and the current as a BEC manifestation of the dc-Josephson effect. The influence of linear defects on BEC superfluidity has been also investigated. We found that for subcritical velocities, linear defects that are static with respect to the lattice (while the condensate moves in respect to both the optical lattice and the defect) preserve the BEC superfluidity.

Einstein-Dirac equations for two spinor fields are considered. It is shown that in this case one can obtain self-consistent equations set for these gravitating spinors. The key idea to obtain Einstein-Dirac equations is to use special ans\"atze for spinor fields in order to zero some off-diagonal componentes of the spinor energy - momentum tensor.

In this paper we study the effects of Lorentz Symmetry Breaking on thermodynamics properties of ideal gases. Inspired in the dispersion relation came from the Carroll-Field-Jackiw model for Electrodynamics with Lorentz and CPT violation term, we compute the thermodynamics quantities for a Boltzmann, Fermi-Dirac and Bose-Einstein distributions. Two regimes are analyzed: the non- relativistic and the relativistic one. In the first case we show that the topological mass induced by the Chern-Simons term behaves as a chemical potential. For the Bose-Einstein gases it could be found a condensation in both regimes, being the appearance of a condensate in the relativistic regime, the main contribution of this work.

We investigate the energy structures and the dynamics of a Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC) in a triple-well potential coupled a high finesse optical cavity within a mean field approach. Due to the intrinsic atom-cavity field nonlinearity, several interesting phenomena arise which are the focuses of this work. For the energy structure, the bistability appears in the energy levels due to this atoms-cavity field nonlinearity, and the same phenomena can be found in the intra-cavity photons number. With an increase of the pump-cavity detunings, the higher and lower energy levels show a loop structure due to this cavity-mediated effects. In the dynamical process, an extensive numerical simulation of localization of the BECs for atoms initially trapped in one-, two-, and three-wells are performed for the symmetric and asymmetric cases in detail. It is shown that the the transition from oscillation to the localization can be modified by the cavity-mediated potential, which will enlarge the regions of oscillation. With the increasing of the atomic interaction, the oscillation is blocked and the localization emerges. The condensates atoms can be trapped either in one-, two-, or in three wells eventually where they are initially uploaded for certain parameters. In particular, we find that the transition from the oscillation to the localization is accompanied with some irregular regime where tunneling dynamics is dominated by chaos for this cavity-mediated system.

Recent results on modelling Bose-Einstein effect in Monte Carlo generators for a source with no spherical symmetry (as seen in the data on $Z^0$ hadronic decays) are reported. Modifications of the weight method necessary for $W^+W^-$ decays are presented and some preliminary results concerning the "inter-$W$" interference effects are discussed.

Data on Bose-Einstein correlations yield information about the interaction regions in multiple particle production processes. The conclusions are model dependent. Several popular models are briefly presented, compared and discussed.
