This report presents the results of studies intended to provide baseline information in preparation for measuring the effect of the white amur on the aquatic vegetation of Lake Conway, Florida. The sponsors hope to assess the environmental impact of the fish, evaluate its ability to control vegetation, develop ecological models to predict the effect of the fish on other systems, and devise a management plan for large-scale use. Included herein are (1) descriptions of the methods of and materials used in aquatic plant research in Lake Conway, (2) results and observations made during and subsequent to the test period, and (3) a literature review.
