1The Effects Of Morphology, Orthographic Depth And Semantics On Bilingual Word Processing: A Cross-Linguistic Translation Priming Study

By

In order to investigate the effects of orthography, morphology and semantics on bilingual word processing separately, the current study will adopt a cross-language priming paradigm to explore the morphologically complex nonword primes formed by illegal L1 translations of the two existing embedded morphemes in L2 in comparison to a control condition which will constitute Experiment 1. The next experiment will include words formed through illegal combinations of L1 translations of embedded morphemes that are semantically related to the target words- which will constitute Experiment 2.

Book's cover

The Perils of Pauline is one of the first damsel in distress serials. The story is complete with undaunted hero, courageous damsel, unscrupulous villains galore, and other worldly interest. 3Kallikak Family

By

The Kallikak Family: A Study in the Heredity of Feeble-Mindedness, written by famous American psychologist and eugenicist Henry H. Goddard, is a famous but controversial extended case study following the Kallikak family (a pseudonym from the Greek words Kallos "beauty" and Kakos "bad") for the inheritance of "feeble-mindedness," a general category referring to a variety of mental disabilities including mental disabilities, learning disabilities, and mental illness.

Goddard concluded that a variety of mental traits were hereditary and society should limit reproduction by people possessing these traits, which in turn helped to spur on the destructive eugenics movement, especially in the United States.

Note: For the charts printed in Chapter II and referred to throughout the text, please refer to a visual copy of the book. - Summary by Mary Kay and Wikipedia
