Numerous studies have investigated cognition following a concussion in student athletes, using several different cognitive and neurocognitive tools. However, a comprehensive review which summarizes and categorizes changes for this population has not yet been conducted. The purpose of this work is to systematically review cognitive changes associated with sport-related concussion in student athletes. This review will inform clinicians and researchers about cognitive changes that occur, and the timeframe in which functioning returns to the equivalent level of age-matched controls.
