I created mockups of the code blue/emergency response buttons that we use in our hospital (both the patient station and buttons only variety). Feel free to remix as you see fit, I've included both one-piece and multi-piece files to accommodate a variety of printers (fits my Elegoo Mars 2, should fit most small printers) NOTE: This does not have any ability to add actual electronics and is only intended to be used to give a physical representation in Healthcare Simulation.

The success and hindrances of the blue-code activation were based on nurses’ readiness to request assistance once a patient’s clinical condition decreases. This research aimed to determine the nurses’ hindrance factors in making the blue code activation at hospitals. This research is analytical-observational with a cross-sectional approach. The samples consisted of 93 nurses taken randomly. The data were collected by questionnaire from March until April 2020 at one of the Nganjuk Government Hospitals. The Pearson test result showed a correlation between experience with p-value 0.022, education with a p-value 0.000, cognition with p-value 0.006, and organizational culture with a p-value 0.000 toward decision-making (p-value<0.05). The multiple linear regression multivariate analysis shows an Exp. value (B) of education is 0.292, experience with a value 0.178, cognition with a value 0.194, and cultural organization with a score of 0.425. Thus, it could be concluded that the organizational culture was the most dominant factor of the nurses’ decision making. The hindrances and success of the nurses’ decision-making are based on the nurses’ characteristics, such as cognition, communication skill, and collaboration skill. The support from the leader of an organization would influence nurses’ confidence dealing with patients’ health.

Aim: Code Blue (CB) is an emergency that requires appropriate sequential actions gained through training with organized teamwork. This research has been conducted to evaluate the efficacy, efficiency, and application results of code blue which is used in our hospital. Material and Method: CB was called between years 2014 and 2015 and 303 patients were examined retrospectively. Results: The mean age of the patients was 68.74 (range 24-92), the number of female patients was 157 (51.81%), and male patients was 146 (48.19%). The mean time to reach the patient was 2.83 ± 1.15 (range: 0.16-8.53) minutes, and the time when most CB were called was between 13.00 and 15.00 pm (p> 0.059). CB calls were most commonly made from neurosurgery, neurology, and respiratory intensive care units. The most often CB calls were made on weekdays (p>0.05). Sex was not associated with mortality (p>0.05). Worst outcome was associated with the outpatient ward, nephrology ward, nephrology ICU, and obstetrics ward (p<0.05). CB team’s reaching time to the patient was not associated with mortality (p>0.05). Time of CB calls was associated with mortality. Worst outcome was observed during 01:00 to 06:00 am (p<0.05). Mortality was observed in patients who have received a statistically significant longer period of CPR (p<0.05). Discussion: The outcome of CB call is particularly dependent on critical interventions. Although the time to reach our patients was similar to the literature values; survival rate will be increased by the providing continuous CPR training for all hospital staff at intervals not longer than 6 months for the intervention to be performed until the arrival of the CB team.

ABSTRACT Aim: This study was prepared to analyze the “Code Blue” application and results in Hitit University Erol Olçok Training and Research Hospital. Material and Method: Whole of the code blue calls issued in our hospital in 2019 were retrospectively examined and evaluated within the framework of the necessary legal permissions. In this context, arrival time of the code blue team at the scene, CPR performance, duration, results of application and demographic information of patient, place, date and time data were collected. The obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science). Results: Between 01.01.2019 and 31.12.2019 a total of 748 code blue notifications were evaluated. The average time for the blue code team to reach the patient was 2.06 minutes. Code blue call was made mostly in intensive care units, by nurses and in January. Patients who underwent code blue intervention 55.89% of them were male and 44.11% were female. Code blue calls were requested the most was the range of 61-80 ages. The oldest patient who received CPR was 105 years old, and the youngest was 2 years old. Besides, code blue call reason is most respiratory+cardiac arrest (243), cardiac arrest (199) and respiratory arrest (109). The results of the whole code blue interventions in 2019, it was figured out that 401 of the patients were dead, 135 of them were taken into intensive care, 173 of them were monitored in the service, 25 people were transferred to the emergency, 12 calls were wrong calls and 2 calls for exercise. Conclusion: The internationally determined intervention period for the patient to not lose his vital functions to survive is 2 -5 minutes. As a result, code blue application in our hospital has been successfully implemented in accordance with the standards, with effective and rapid intervention.

We introduce an improved code for simulations of star clusters, called MOCCA. It combines the Monte Carlo method for star cluster evolution and the Fewbody code to perform scattering experiments. The Fewbody was added in order to track more precisely dynamical interactions between objects which can lead to creations of various exotic objects observed in the star clusters, like Blue Stragglers Stars (BSS). The MOCCA code is currently one of the most advanced codes for simulating real size star clusters. It follows the star cluster evolution closely to N-body codes but is much faster. We show that the MOCCA code is able to follow the evolution of BSS with details. It is a suitable tool to perform full scale evolution of real star clusters and detail comparison with observations of exotic star cluster objects like BSS. This paper is the first one of the series of papers about properties of BSS in star clusters. This type of stars is particularly interesting today, because by studying them one can get important constrains on a link between the stellar and dynamical evolution of star clusters. We discuss here first results concerning BSS for an arbitrary chosen test model. We investigate properties of BSS which characterize different channels of formation like masses, semi-major axes, eccentricities, and orbital periods. We show how BSS from different channels change their types, and discuss initial and final positions of BSS, their bimodal distribution in the star cluster, lifetimes and more.

As a result of the Columbia tragedy on February 1,2003, the International Space Station (ISS) crew size has been temporarily reduced from three to two. This change forces adaptations in many operational procedures used by the crew, including medical protocols which were designed for scenarios involving one casualty and two caregivers. The Office of Space Medicine directed that the procedure for the resuscitation of a crewmember in cardiac arrest be rewritten for use by a single care provider. Methods: Adaptation of this procedure made use of current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) procedures and reflects necessary compromises between the realities of the operational environment and prompt provision of medical care. Results: Numerous changes were incorporated due to the diminution in available personnel, including substitution of endotracheal rather than intravenous delivery of drugs, more rapid defibrillation, addition of a precordial thump, removal of transcutaneous pacing, streamlining of procedural steps, and clarification of termination criteria. Discussion: The on-orbit care available to the ISS crewmembers is constrained by numerous factors, including crew medical training, minimal medical assets, limited air/ground communication , and a single caregiver for the foreseeable future. All of these combine to make a successful resuscitation unlikely, however, this procedure must ultimately deal with not only the patient's welfare, but also that of the caregiver, the mission, and the program.
