7CloudSVM : Training An SVM Classifier In Cloud Computing Systems

In conventional method, distributed support vector machines (SVM) algorithms are trained over pre-configured intranet/internet environments to find out an optimal classifier. These methods are very complicated and costly for large datasets. Hence, we propose a method that is referred as the Cloud SVM training mechanism (CloudSVM) in a cloud computing environment with MapReduce technique for distributed machine learning applications. Accordingly, (i) SVM algorithm is trained in distributed cloud storage servers that work concurrently; (ii) merge all support vectors in every trained cloud node; and (iii) iterate these two steps until the SVM converges to the optimal classifier function. Large scale data sets are not possible to train using SVM algorithm on a single computer. The results of this study are important for training of large scale data sets for machine learning applications. We provided that iterative training of splitted data set in cloud computing environment using SVM will converge to a global optimal classifier in finite iteration size.

8Desktop To Cloud Migration Of Scientific Computing Experiments

Scientific computing applications usually need huge amounts of computational power. The cloud provides interesting high-performance computing solutions, with its promise of virtually infinite resources on demand. However, migrating scientific computing problems to clouds and the re-creation of software environment on the vendor-supplied OS and cloud instances is often a laborious task. It is also assumed that the scientist who is performing the experiments has significant knowledge of computer science, cloud computing and the migration procedure, which is often not true. Considering these obstacles, we have designed a tool suite that migrates the complete software environment directly to the cloud. The developed desktop-to-cloud-migration (D2CM) tool supports transformation and migration of virtual machine images, reusable deployment description and life-cycle management for applications to be hosted on Amazon Cloud or compatible infrastructure such as Eucalyptus. The paper also presents an electrochemical case study and computational experiments targeted at designing modern supercapacitors. These experiments have extensively used the tool in drawing domain specific results. Detailed analysis of the case showed that D2CM tool not only simplifies the migration procedure for the scientists, but also helps them in optimizing the calculations and compute clusters, by providing them a new dimension -- cost-to-value of computational experiments.

9Joint Uplink/Downlink Optimization For Backhaul-Limited Mobile Cloud Computing With User Scheduling

Mobile cloud computing enables the offloading of computationally heavy applications, such as for gaming, object recognition or video processing, from mobile users (MUs) to cloudlet or cloud servers, which are connected to wireless access points, either directly or through finite-capacity backhaul links. In this paper, the design of a mobile cloud computing system is investigated by proposing the joint optimization of computing and communication resources with the aim of minimizing the energy required for offloading across all MUs under latency constraints at the application layer. The proposed design accounts for multiantenna uplink and downlink interfering transmissions, with or without cooperation on the downlink, along with the allocation of backhaul and computational resources and user selection. The resulting design optimization problems are nonconvex, and stationary solutions are computed by means of successive convex approximation (SCA) techniques. Numerical results illustrate the advantages in terms of energy-latency trade-off of the joint optimization of computing and communication resources, as well as the impact of system parameters, such as backhaul capacity, and of the network architecture.

Highly-parallel graphics processing units (GPUs) can improve the speed of micromagnetic simulations significantly as compared to conventional computing using central processing units (CPUs). We present a strategy for performing GPU-accelerated micromagnetic simulations by utilizing cost-effective GPU access offered by cloud computing services with an open-source Python-based program for running the MuMax3 micromagnetics code remotely. We analyze the scaling and cost benefits of using cloud computing for micromagnetics.

Computer hardware costs are the limiting factor in producing highly accurate radiation dose calculations on convenient time scales. Because of this, large-scale, full Monte Carlo simulations and other resource intensive algorithms are often considered infeasible for clinical settings. The emerging cloud computing paradigm promises to fundamentally alter the economics of such calculations by providing relatively cheap, on-demand, pay-as-you-go computing resources over the Internet. We believe that cloud computing will usher in a new era, in which very large scale calculations will be routinely performed by clinics and researchers using cloud-based resources. In this research, several proof-of-concept radiation therapy calculations were successfully performed on a cloud-based virtual Monte Carlo cluster. Performance evaluations were made of a distributed processing framework developed specifically for this project. The expected 1/n performance was observed with some caveats. The economics of cloud-based virtual computing clusters versus traditional in-house hardware is also discussed. For most situations, cloud computing can provide a substantial cost savings for distributed calculations.

13Infrastructure Suitability Assessment Modeling For Cloud Computing Solutions

Maturing virtualization in information technology systems has enabled increased implementations of the cloud com-puting paradigm, dissolving the need to co-locate user and computing power by providing desired services through the network. This thesis researches the support that current network modeling and simulation applications can provide to IT projects in planning, implementing and maintaining networks for cloud solutions. A problem-appropriate do-main model and subsequent requirements are developed for the assessment of several network modeling and simula-tion tools, which leads to the identification of a capability gap precluding the use of such tools in early stages of cloud computing projects. Consequently, a practical, modular designed methodology is proposed to measure the essential properties necessary for developing appropriate cloud computing network traffic models. The conducted proof-of-concept experiment applied to a virtual desktop environment finds the proposed methodology suitable and problem-appropriate, and results in recommended steps to close the identified capability gap.

14Adopting Cloud Computing In The Pakistan Navy

Pakistan’s proximity to the Strait of Hormuz, through which millions of barrels of oil is shipped per day, makes it a gateway to Central Asian countries. The Pakistan coastline stretches to almost 1,000 kilometers and has an exclusive economic zone of 290,000 km2. As a flag bearer of protecting the country’s sea lines of communication and safeguarding its maritime territories, the Pakistan Navy is in the continuous process of modernization. Although a robust command and control structure exists for the accomplishment of peacetime and wartime objectives, there is still a need to adopt up-to-date procedures that can ensure the two-way exchange of information in near real-time and provide access to information from anywhere around the globe. This thesis explores the peculiarities of cloud computing and its potential utility to the Pakistan Navy. After an in-depth analysis of the country’s information technology environment, the scope and utility of cloud computing in the country, and the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Navy, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology cloud architectures, a framework has been laid out for adopting cloud computing in the Pakistan Navy.

16Ultra-Reliable Cloud Mobile Computing With Service Composition And Superposition Coding

An emerging requirement for 5G systems is the ability to provide wireless ultra-reliable communication (URC) services with close-to-full availability for cloud-based applications. Among such applications, a prominent role is expected to be played by mobile cloud computing (MCC), that is, by the offloading of computationally intensive tasks from mobile devices to the cloud. MCC allows battery-limited devices to run sophisticated applications, such as for gaming or for the "tactile" internet. This paper proposes to apply the framework of reliable service composition to the problem of optimal task offloading in MCC over fading channels, with the aim of providing layered, or composable, services at differentiated reliability levels. Inter-layer optimization problems, encompassing offloading decisions and communication resources, are formulated and addressed by means of successive convex approximation methods. The numerical results demonstrate the energy savings that can be obtained by a joint allocation of computing and communication resources, as well as the advantages of layered coding at the physical layer and the impact of channel conditions on the offloading decisions.

22An Efficient And Safe Data Sharing Scheme For Mobile Cloud Computing

As the popularity of cloud computing is increasing, mobile devices at any time can store or retrieve personal information from anywhere. As a result, the issue of data protection in the mobile cloud is becoming increasingly severe and prevents more mobile cloud computing. There are important studies that have been carried out to strengthen the protection of the cloud. Most of them, however, are not applicable to mobile clouds, as mobile devices have restricted computing resources and power. In this paper, I propose a lightweight data sharing scheme LDSS for mobile cloud computing. It uses CP ABE Cipher text Policy Attribute Based Encryption , an access control technology used in basic cloud atmosphere, but changes the structure of access control tree to make it suitable for mobile cloud environments. LDSS moves a large portion of the computational rigorous access control tree transformation in CP ABE Cipher text Policy Attribute Based Encryption from mobile devices to external proxy servers. Also, to reduce the user revocation cost, it introduces attribute description fields to implement lazy revocation, which is a pointed issue in program based CP ABE Cipher text Policy Attribute Based Encryption systems. 37Medical Diagnostic Support System Based On Breast Thermography Using Raspberry Pi And Cloud Computing

Breast thermography is a promising medical imaging technique for the detection of breast cancer. However, providing a robust and portable computer-aided diagnostic system for breast thermography remains a tedious task. In this paper, a computer-aided diagnostic system based on breast thermography is developed and implemented on a Raspberry Pi 4 using the cloud computing services to provide the computing power needed for machine learning algorithms. Image processing techniques such as preprocessing and segmentation are employed to achieve an adequate feature extraction task. The support vector machine classifier is used in the final stage to classify the breast as normal or abnormal. According to the experimental results, the proposed computer-aided diagnostic system has shown high performance in both the segmentation and classification steps. Furthermore, a low computation time was obtained when using the high computing capabilities of the cloud with the Raspberry Pi. We conclude that the implementation of such a decision support system on the Raspberry Pi especially when using the cloud computing services, can be a reliable tool for radiologists to predict breast abnormalities even in the rural backcountry where there is lack of health services.

39Influence Of Cloud Computing Adaption On Organization Performance: A Case Study Of Selected Commercial Banks In Ilala Municipality

This study focuses on the influence of cloud computing adaption on organization performance with particular reference to selected Commercial Banks in Ilala Municipality. Specifically, the study aimed to assess how cloud computing increases efficiency of bank operations, to examine the effectiveness of cloud computing on enhancing customer satisfaction and to identify the challenges and opportunities encountering Commercial Banks in adopting and using cloud computing services. A sample of 70 respondents was drawn from the study population using simple random and purposive sampling techniques. Research questionnaire was applied in data collection and the collected data were analyzed using quantitative research techniques. Frequencies and percentages were computed to establish descriptive information of the collected data. Multiple regression statistical analysis with the help of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) was employed to analyse the collected data. Results revealed that cloud computing is easy to use in banking operations, it shows that cloud computing in banks is accurate in data processing whereby to improve efficiency cloud technology can bring together multiple data and operational systems and increase efficiency in bank operations. Basing on the findings the study recommends that cloud computing service providers solve the issues that hamper the adoption of cloud computing. The government should create policies on cloud computing to be taught from schools so that people become aware of cloud computing. Seminars and events should be organized so that different kinds of individuals can be educated and informed about different ideas concerning cloud computing adaptation. The study recommends for further studies that cloud computing is a rapidly emerging technology in many companies. It would be interesting to concentrate on other industries that may have a greater demand for information management and so need the usage of cloud computing.

41Double Auction Used Artificial Neural Network In Cloud Computing

Double auction (DA) algorithm is widely used for trading systems in cloud computing. Distinct buyers request different attributes for virtual machines. On the other hand, different sellers offer several types of virtual machines according to their correspondence bids. In DA, getting multiple equilibrium prices from distinct cloud providers is a difficult task, and one of the major problems is bidding prices for virtual machines, so we cannot make decisions with inconsistent data. To solve this problem, we need to find the best machine learning algorithm that anticipates the bid cost for virtual machines. Analyzing the performance of DA algorithm with machine learning algorithms is to predict the bidding price for both buyers and sellers. Therefore, we have implemented several machine learning algorithms and observed their performance on the bases of accuracy, such as linear regression (83%), decision tree regressor (77%), random forest (82%), gradient boosting (81%), and support vector regressor (90%). In the end, we observed that the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) provided an astonishing result. ANN has provided 97% accuracy in predicting bidding prices in DA compared to all other learning algorithms. It reduced the wastage of resources (VMs attributes) and soared both users' profits (buyers & sellers). Different types of models were analyzed on the bases of individual parameters such as accuracy. In the end, we found that ANN is effective and valuable for bidding prices for both users.

Increased intricacy in event management has resulted in problems related to scalability, efficiency, and cost containment. This paper proposes a cloud event management framework model that focuses on operational, resource management, and event management processes. The cloud event management architecture is based on cloud computing integrated with telecommunication, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) for enhanced decision making through predictive analytics and dynamic control. The modular approach facilitates integration with other data processing systems and enhances operational versatility by interfacing with multiple third-party applications. Emphasis is placed on data privacy and compliance with recognized security standards which preserves and protects the information. Comparison analyses with other event management systems show significant progress in scalability, satisfaction of users, and effectiveness of business operations. This study integrates the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud technology to shift the paradigm of event management from conventional to more agile technological based approaches. Also, the model enables the examination of future hybrid and wholly virtual events that may be further improved by complex event processing and optimization methodologies that operate in real time.

Therefore, the purpose of this research paper is to investigate the incorporation of PSO into schedule task on cloud computing systems. Generally, conventional techniques of scheduling encounter inefficiencies that inflict lighting energy waste and augment energy expenses. This paper outlines a novel, PSO-based scheduling algorithm that uses real feedback from current context to properly assign resources for tasks and improve metrics in terms of task time requirement, resource consumption, energy saving, makespan, and average task waiting time. Polynomial and numerical analysis of the proposed real time PSO- based solution applied to a simulated Cloud environment reveals that it is far superior to conventional methods such as FCFS and Round Robin. Thus, the results prove that the proposed PSO algorithm can be deemed a relatively strong solution of the problem of effective distribution of tasks in cloud computing environments while also providing the schedule that is responsive to the fluctuations in the work load

Cloud computing transforms the way information technology (IT) is consumed and managed, promising improved cost efficiencies, accelerated innovation, faster time-to-market, and the ability to scale applications on demand. However, as the shape of the cloud computing is emerging and developing rapidly both conceptually and in reality, the legal/contractual, economic, service quality, interoperability, security and privacy issues still pose significant challenges. In this project, we describe various service and deployment models of cloud computing and identify major challenges. In particular, we discuss three critical challenges: security and privacy issues in cloud computing. Some solutions to mitigate these challenges are also proposed along with a brief presentation on the future trends in cloud computing deployment. The use of cloud computing has increased rapidly in many organizations. Cloud computing provides many benefits in terms of low cost and accessibility of data. Ensuring the security of cloud computing is a major factor in the cloud computing environment, as users often store sensitive information with cloud storage providers but these providers may not be trusted.
