Steven Pinker argued that we are living in the most peaceable era in human existence and that through the spread of government, literacy, trade, and cosmopolitanism, humans have been able to increasingly control the inner demons that lead us to violence. He responded to questions from members of the audience at Politics and Prose Bookstore in Washington, D.C.
