In meiner Hofstatt steht ein uralter Kirschbaum. Als Knabe bin ich da hinaufgestiegen. Ich bin tagelang in der Kirschbaumkrone gesessen und habe dem Wind, den zwirbelnden Blättern zugeschaut. Ich habe am Himmel die treibenden Wolken verfolgt, mir vorgestellt, mit diesen Wolken, über ferner Länder, Meere und Kontinente zu treiben. Ich lebte quasi in den Bäumen. Ein Tagträumer bin ich bis heute geblieben. – Vielleicht sind die Träume der Ursprung der Kunst.« Aus Baumzweigen verfertigte ich meine ersten Skulpturen. Quasi abstrakte Hunde, Pferde, Schwalben, Flugzeuge. An dem kleinen Flüsschen, das unseren Garten durchquert, baute ich mir Flosse und kleine Segelschiffe. Mit diesen Spielzeugsegelschiffen bereiste ich die Flüsse und Meere. Ich baute auch Leuchttürme, Hafenanlagen und Eisenbahnlinien. Ich erschuf mir meine eigene Welt.   Ich war Indianer, der letzte Mohikaner und Trapper, Grosswildjäger in Afrika und Flugpionier auf Atlantikflug zugleich. Und im Winter, wenn Schnee in der Hofstatt, lag durchquerte ich zu Fuss Grönland und die Antarktis. Im Sommer verirrte ich mich in die Wüste Gobi oder in die Sahara. Fantasie und Spiel. Ich malte mir Landkarten, Seekarten und Himmelskarten mit all den Sternbildern darin. Das waren also meine ersten Skulpturen und Bilder – so kam ich zur sogenannten Kunst.   Auch erzählte ich mir neue, selbst erfundene Märchen und Geschichten. Ich erfand Alibaba und die 40 Räuber neu – ebenso Tausendundeine Nacht. Ich versetzte mich mit meinen eigenen Geschichten in Angst und Schrecken. Schlaflose Nächte. – Das waren meine ersten Texte – so kam ich zur Literatur, so kam ich zum Schreiben.   Pedro Meier, Multimedia Artist und Schriftsteller. – Ich male Bilder, konstruiere und baue Skulpturen. Rauch- und Klang-Installationen. Licht- und Sprach-Performance. Ich bin ein leidenschaftlicher Fotograf. Ich lese und schreibe Bücher – ich bin Horizontsüchtig und professioneller Tagträumer. Ich liebe den Film und die Musik etc. Ich bin gelernter Buchhändler und besass ein Buchantiquariat in Zürich. 1969 fuhr ich mit der Transsibirischen Eisenbahn nach Japan. In Bangkok blieb ich hängen und betrieb für einige Jahre ein Restaurant mit Namen »Swiss-Inn«. Hallo, ich wollte für mein Ikea Hängeschrank im Bad andere Türgriffe haben, als der Standard. Da ist mir das redende Schloss/Tuergriff von Alice im Wunderland eingefallen. Also habe nach geeigneten Modelle gesucht und für meine Zwecke angepasst. Das Original ist von sergioinglese https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3034175 Vielen Dank für das tolle Design. Ich habe das Modell auf 50% verkleinert. Die Nase habe ich aus rotem TPU gedruckt. Auf der Rückseite sind 3 Löchter zum einschmelzen von 2mm Schmelzgewinden. Für die Nase habe ich es auch überarbeitet, da mir die schnell abgebrochen ist. Also einfach dort auch ein Schmelzgewinde von M2 einschmelzen und von der Rückseite mit einer M2 Schraube und einer Unterlegscheibe sichern. Dazu wird auch noch ein Video kommen. Es macht Sinn das Modell mit 4 Wänden und 0.1 mm Schichthöhe zu drucken (erste Schicht 0.2 mm), da es sonst sein könnte, dass man das Überbrückungsinfill über den Schraublöchern sehen kann. Die 4 Wände werden benötigt, weil die Wandstärke für die Einschmelzgewinde 1.3mm betragen sollte. 0.4*3 wären allerdings erst 1.2mm. There are 3 holes on the back to melt in 2mm fusible threads. For the nose I also reworked it, because it broke off quickly for me. So just melt there also a fusion thread of M2 and secure from the back with an M2 screw and a washer. There will be a video about this as well. It makes sense to print the model with 4 walls and 0.1 mm layer height (first layer 0.2 mm), otherwise you might see the bridging infill over the screw holes. This is the handwritten book that Carroll wrote for private use before being urged to develop it later into Alice in Wonderland. It was generously illustrated by Carrol and meant to entertain his family and friends. When a sick child in a hospital enjoyed it so much, the mother wrote him saying it had distracted her for a bit from her pain and led eventually to Carroll expanding the story. The Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson and the Reverend Robinson Duckworth rowed in a boat, on 4 July 1862, up the Isis with the three young daughters of Henry Liddell, (the Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University and Dean of Christ Church) : Lorina Charlotte Liddell (aged 13, born 1849); Alice Pleasance Liddell (aged 10, born 1852); Edith Mary Liddell (aged 8, born 1853). The journey began at Folly Bridge near Oxford and ended five miles away in the village of Godstow. During the trip the Reverend Dodgson told the girls a story that featured a bored little girl named Alice who goes looking for an adventure. The girls loved it, and Alice Liddell asked Dodgson to write it down for her. He began writing the manuscript of the story the next day, although that earliest version no longer exists. The girls and Dodgson took another boat trip a month later when he elaborated the plot to the story of Alice, and in November he began working on the manuscript in earnest. To add the finishing touches he researched natural history for the animals presented in the book, and then had the book examined by other children—particularly the MacDonald children. He added his own illustrations but approached John Tenniel to illustrate the book for publication, telling him that the story had been well liked by children. On 26 November 1864 he gave Alice the handwritten manuscript of Alice's Adventures Under Ground, with illustrations by Dodgson himself, dedicating it as "A Christmas Gift to a Dear Child in Memory of a Summer's Day". The Hunting of the Snark - "An Agony in 8 Fits" is typically categorized as a nonsense poem written by Lewis Carroll, the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. Written from 1874 to 1876, the poem borrows the setting, some creatures, and eight portmanteau words from Carroll's earlier poem "Jabberwocky" in his children's novel Through the Looking Glass. Carroll often denied knowing the meaning behind the poem; however, in an 1896 reply to one letter, he agreed with one interpretation of the poem as an allegory for the search for happiness. Scholars have found various meanings in the poem, among them existential angst, an allegory for tuberculosis, and a mockery of the Tichborne case. I just found it to be great fun to read. It is written as though the story is being read aloud by someone who is also talking to the child listener, with many interpolations by the author, pointing out details in the pictures and asking questions, such as "Which would you have liked the best, do you think, to be a little tiny Alice, no larger than a kitten, or a great tall Alice, with your head always knocking against the ceiling?" Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There (also known as Alice Through the Looking-Glass or simply Through the Looking-Glass) is an 1871 novel by Lewis Carroll and the sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865). Alice again enters a fantastical world, this time by climbing through a mirror into the world that she can see beyond it. There she finds that, just like a reflection, everything is reversed, including logic.<br /><br />Alice becomes a player in a game of chess and works her way up to becoming a queen. On her way across the board she meets Tweedledum and Tweedledee, recites the classic poems, "Jabberwocky" and "The Walrus and the Carpenter", amongst many more. She also demonstrates her ability at mathematics to her new found friends, the red and white queens.<br /><br />The mirror that Alice ventured through is still on display in Charlton Kings, Gloucestershire.
