Hemiplegic gait has many abnormal gait patterns; however, the definitions of abnormal gait patterns in patients after stroke remain unclear. Furthermore, the relationships of the abnormal gait pattern with functional disability and gait outcomes also remain unclear. Therefore, a scoping review is considered an appropriate approach to identify knowledge gaps in this field and such a review can consolidate the available evidence. This scoping review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current research landscape on this field.
