Beginning in the year 2002 a group of local volunteers cleaned a portion of the site, conserved the last remaining masonry pier from the complex and installed an interpretive panel. With the acquisition of the site by the Larkin Center of Commerce in 2009, Mahoney acted as project architect to convert the 1.3 million sq ft factory into first class office space. Surviving foundations of a second fence pier on the Admin building site have been used to support a frosted glass ghost of the missing pier as well as a replicated section of original twenty foot high enclosing fence. The Administration Building site has been partially excavated revealing surviving elements of the compound and a wealth of building fragments. A streetscape project allowed sidewalk markers indicating the boundaries of the structure and limited excavations have allowed short term explorations of the surviving ground floor level of the building.
Co-sponsored by the Richardson Olmsted Complex & Explore Buffalo

For an AUDIO introduction to the 2016-17 'IMAGINE' Series: December 29, 2015 Downtown Library C-SAAHN "IMAGINE" Noon-Hour Lecture by Dennis Galucki "The Buffalo-Chautauqua Idea: 'IMAGINE' Series Sixth Anniversary" https://archive.org/details/1512290091.
