The soda bottle car is driven by compressed air and is an excellent example for demonstrating Newton’s 3rd law of motion. The soda bottle is pumped up to about 60 PSI with air using a portable air pump. The bottles are able to withstand higher pressures but I keep it to this range. On a good run without hitting a wall it can travel well over 100 feet. I have made a few versions of the cart, starting with Leggos and Kinex. Any design of car simply needs to be able to hold the soda bottle horizontal and hopefully steers straight. The hole in the soda bottle cap is 1/16th of an inch. The needle inflator stem fits into very snuggly but will loosen with use, when it starts losing too much air, replace it with a new cap.

Here is a simple face shield that is made out of a soda bottle, a piece of foam rubber, duct tape and a ribbon. It takes about 5-10 minutes to make. It not as good as a commercial one but an be used in a pinch. ADDITIONAL ADVICE; 1.The shield can be made longer by adding additional material to the bottom of it. It does not have to be clear since you don't look through it at that there. 2.A shield is much more effective when a mask is added. 3.To keep it from fogging, ad a drop of soap and wipe dry. the soap film prevents the water droplets from fogging. Dish soap seems to work the best, though hand soap will also work

The water inside the bottle also demonstrates Newton's first law. It has inertia and collects at the back of the bottle as as it suddenly accelerates forward. The soda bottle is pumped up to about 75 PSI with air using a portable air pump. When launched the air pushes water out the mouth of the bottle to incredible speed. The bottles are able to withstand higher pressures but the pump maxes out at this range. On a good run without hitting a wall it can travel well over 100 feet.
